It makes a nice, loud boom when it hits the bottom.ġ. I don't have too many, as I wasn't able to play last night, but here's all I've got for now.Īmazing what a direct deck gun hit to the explosive cargo will do to a ship. I suspect I may let Ubi know about that too once I've done it.
While I hate the Starforce protection, that will be cracked and cleaned as soon as a hack is out. So far, this is easily the best sub sim I've ever seen, by a long shot. I moved my view underwater and just watched as the torpedo went straight down until it hit the bottom and exploded. It took a hard left and sank, missing the ship by what must have been inches. Then just before impact (no more than 50' from the hull), the torpedo literally ran out of steam. It was tracking perfectly, and was going to nail the target ship in the back 1/3 of the vessel. I also had a beautiful super long distance torpedo shot tonight as well. The whole time small bubbles are streaming from both halves of the ship as the last bits of air escape from the wreckage. The stern also hit, but there was so much air trapped in the back of it that it remained mostly vertical for a long while. The parts of the ship were descending independantly, and suddenly I hear a loud boom and the twisting of metal as a huge cloud of mud and silt billowed up around the bow of the ship as it impacted the bottom. I zoomed my view over to it to watch as it sunk, and then decided to peek underwater. It broke apart and rolled over as it plunged to the bottom. The ship had apparently been loaded with munitions, and my one shot had set them off. Suddenly I see it lift halfway from the water as a huge plume of fire and debris shot upwards from the impact site. There was a nice, small flash, a following report after the right amount of time, and then suddenly the entire ship flared up brightly, then dimmed again briefly. Roughly 4 seconds later the shell arced down and made a direct hit on the ship.
For example, I lined up on a ship that was a good 6-8km out, and without using any of the fancy range finding equipment or even the accurate gun view I put in about as much elevation as I figured I needed and fired a shot. I picked it up and installed it tonight, and played around with it for a couple of hours that seemed like only 15 minutes.ĭeck gun use is a lot of fun, and as usual, I seem to be insanely accurate with artillery.
I'll just use a crack once it hits the scene to get rid of the issue. Starforce is an evil bitch, but the game's depth is just awesome.
